Get ready for the virtual Cinderella later this month with this 41-mile lasso through the Napa Valley taking in isolated and picturesque Franz Valley. We start at the Clif Bar Winery in St. Helena, where you can park your car gratis, and head out the Silverado Trail to Calistoga, then taking Highway 128 west before turning onto Franz Valley and eventually Franz Valley School Road. We return the same way through Calistoga and the Silverado Trail. The route is full of moderate and small rollers but is mostly flattish.
Bring snacks and plenty of water. Check the weather report and dress accordingly.
The
Clif Bar Winery has a restroom open to cyclists and next door is the
Azteca Market for last minute snack purchases.
There is no lunch stop planned during the ride although we’ll stop to snack and drink. After the ride we’ll probably head over to
Gott's to guzzle some grub before heading home! (Gott's has socially-distanced outdoor picnic tables; if it's crowded, we'll do take-out.)
